Custom football kit quote: what to expect and how to get one

September 16, 2026

Getting a custom football kit quote is quicker than most clubs expect. You describe the design. We come back with a price. No template picker, no instant calculator, no minimum order of fifty. The quote is built around what you actually want.

Here is exactly what the process looks like, what to prepare, and what a handmade kit quote covers.

What a custom kit quote covers

A quote from Own Kit is not a base price plus a list of extras. One price covers the whole commission: colorway, badge or crest, name and number, collar style, cut, and your timeline.

The quote is free. No payment is taken until you confirm the design.

That matters because most club administrators budget before they commit. You should know the full cost of a run before a single shirt is cut. That is how the process works here.

What makes this different from a configurator quote

Most sites that offer a "custom kit quote" are running a price calculator. You input the quantity, pick a template, choose from a dropdown of colours, and a number appears. The factory makes it alongside thousands of other orders.

This is not that.

No configurator built this. A person did.

Every shirt Own Kit makes is handmade in Romania, one at a time, to the brief you submit. The quote reflects your specific design, not a templated approximation of it. A complex badge with multiple colours costs more than a clean two-tone. A tight deadline changes what is possible. The quote accounts for both.

What to prepare before you request a quote

The more you have ready, the faster you get a price back.

  1. Colorway. Primary and secondary colours. Name a club you like the look of, send a hex code, or describe it in plain language. "Royal blue body with yellow trim" is enough to work from.
  2. Badge or crest. If you have a vector file, attach it. If your badge only exists as a low-resolution image, say so. If you want no badge at all, that is also fine.
  3. Name and number. Font preference and placement. Standard back placement is most common; sleeve numbering or a specific typeface is doable.
  4. Number of shirts. One shirt for a collector, or a full squad run. There is no minimum order. Each shirt is made individually.
  5. Deadline. A season kick-off or a cup fixture date changes the production timeline. Put the date in the brief and we will confirm whether we can hit it.

You do not need answers to all five before you get in touch. The brief is a conversation. Having these ready just speeds it up.

How to get a quote

Get a quote by filling in the brief on the quote page. Tell us the club or team name, the number of shirts, what you have in mind for the design, and your preferred timeline. Attach any reference images that show the kind of look you are after.

We review every brief within 24 hours. We may come back with one or two questions before we price. Once we understand the design, you get a price built around your specific request. Nothing is made until you confirm.

No payment at the quote stage.

What a handmade kit costs

Per-shirt prices depend on the product. Here is the current range:

ProductPriceWhat it suits
The Street€110Clean colorway, name and number, casual cut
The Classic€120Classic cut, badge up to four colours, full personalisation
The Terrace€130Terrace cut, collar detail, badge work included
The Commission€180Complex badge, unusual fabric, multi-element design

These are per-shirt prices. A squad of twelve costs twelve times the per-shirt price. There are no volume discounts, because each shirt is made by hand, not cut from a batch.

For clubs comparing this to a mass-market configurator: sublimated kit from those sites starts around £19.50 per shirt. The cut is fixed. The colours come from a swatch. You get the nearest approximation, not the actual thing.

The price difference buys you a shirt built to your brief. Badge placement adjusted, colorway matched exactly, collar style chosen. Every shirt leaves here as a one-off. Nobody else has it.

How long does the quote and production process take?

The quote comes back within 24 hours. If we need design clarification, allow another 24 hours.

Once you confirm the brief and the price, production begins. Simple commissions, a clean colorway with name and number, take around two to three weeks from design approval to your door. Complex badge work or embroidery takes longer. Shipping across the UK and Europe adds time depending on your location.

If you are working to a specific date, say so in the brief. We will not take on an order we cannot deliver on time.

Club orders versus individual commissions

The quote page handles both. Individual collectors commissioning a single shirt follow the same process as a club administrator ordering a squad run. The brief changes; the process does not.

For clubs, it is worth noting that each shirt in a squad run is made individually. There is no batch production. That means sizing can vary shirt by shirt, the badge is applied to each one separately, and every shirt gets the same quality check before it ships. It also means lead time scales with quantity. A squad of fifteen takes longer than a squad of five.

If you are coordinating kit across a county FA or a league, contact us via the quote page with the scale of what you need and we will talk through what is realistic.

What happens after you confirm

Once you approve the design and the price:

  • Production starts within one working day
  • Each shirt is cut from fabric, printed, and sewn by hand in Romania
  • You get a tracking number when your order ships
  • Shirts reach most UK addresses within five to ten working days of dispatch

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom football kit cost? Own Kit shirts run from €110 for The Street to €180 for The Commission, per shirt. The price depends on the product and the complexity of the design: badge detail, fabric choice, and the number of personalisation elements all affect the final figure.

Is there a minimum order for a custom kit? No. You can commission a single shirt or a full squad run. Each shirt is made individually, so a run of twelve costs twelve times the per-shirt price.

How long does a custom football kit quote take? We review every brief within 24 hours and come back with a price built around your specific design. No instant calculator; a person reads your brief and prices it.

Can I get a quick delivery on a custom football kit? Timelines depend on complexity. Simple commissions can turn around in two to three weeks. Complex badge work takes longer. Tell us your deadline in the brief and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable. We do not take on orders we cannot deliver on time.
